Dadupanthi refers to those devoted to Hindu Dadupanthi sect. It was founded by Dadu Dayal in the 16th century. Most of these Hindus live in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. They speak Hindi.
They have their own customs and traditions. Each year they celebrate a number of Hindu festivals including Guru Purnima, Janmashtami, and Diwali.
These Hindus seek self-realization through repeating a divine mantra. They are devoted to the teachings of Dadu Dayal who emphasized love, compassion and service to community. They are vegetarians who refrain from violence. Devotional music is important in their religious practices.
The Dadupanthi community needs to understand that Jesus Christ is far higher than any other; devotion to him alone will bring fullness of life. They need a John 10:10 blessing: The abundant life Jesus offers those who are willing to submit to his lordship.
Pray for the Dadupanthi culture to be renewed and enhanced by a work of the Holy Spirit and shaped into a God-centered and God-honoring mold.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to move among their family and community leaders to seek his face and enjoy his blessings.
Pray for the Lord to thrust out workers who will be compelled to nurture a disciple making movement among the Dadupanthi people.
Pray that soon the Dadupanthi people will have faith that will lead them to live honorable lives that will draw others to the savior.
Pray for spiritual discernment and a hunger for true spirituality.
